Our mission is straightforward yet impactful: we aim to advocate for health equity and social justice. We believe in empowering African American physicians and providing culturally relevant health education. By doing so, we strive to create systemic change that improves the health of diverse populations.
Who We Are
The Maryland State Chapter of the National Medical Association (NMA) is a professional organization dedicated to advocacy and support. We focus on enhancing care in communities of color and ensuring that the voices of Black physicians are heard on both local and national platforms. Our goal is to provide essential resources that promote better health outcomes for all.
Our History
Founded in 1895, the National Medical Association holds the title of the oldest organization representing African American physicians and their patients. Our Maryland chapter emerged from this rich legacy, aiming to address the unique health challenges faced by communities of color. Over the years, we have fostered a strong network of dedicated physicians who prioritize advocacy, leadership, and community engagement.
